The City of Bradbury contracts with a City Planner, who oversees all development applications until approved by the Planning Commission and ready for submittal to the Department of Building & Safety. The Planning Department provides direction and leadership in implementing the goals, objectives, and policies of the General Plan as adopted by the City Council. The Department is also responsible for the orderly development of the City and the administration of various land use regulations, including the zoning code, design guidelines and is the staff liaison to the Planning Commission.
The City of Bradbury has five different Zones: R-7,500, R-20,000, A-1, A-2 & A-5. If you know the zone your property is located in, you can look up such basic information as Permitted Uses, required Front Yard, Side Yard and Rear Yard Setbacks and Height Limits on-line. For new homes and major additions/remodels the City strongly recommends that you purchase a copy of the City’s Design Guidelines, available at City Hall or on-line. In some cases you may need to work with your HOA (Home Owner's Association) as well. Once the City receives your completed application, the City Planner is notified and begins a review of the plans and prepares a staff report and recommendation for the City Planning Commission. This process usually takes about one month. The Planning Commission meets once a month. Minor reviews do not have to be reviewed by the Planning Commission and may have a shorter turnaround time. |
